Dhruva Mathur
Hi! I am a PhD student in Educational Leadership, Policy and Human Development with a concentration in Higher Education at North Carolina State University. My research sits at the intersection of higher education governance, organizational politics, and emerging technology, with a particular focus on how institutions adapt to AI, how AI affects the labor market, and the consequences for higher education.
Before joining NC State, I worked for six years at the Indian School of Public Policy in New Delhi, where I taught public policy courses and helped shape institutional strategy across domains. I have also worked at the Overseas Development Institute and contributed to research projects for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the London School of Economics.
At NC State, I study faculty responses and norms around AI across disciplines at U.S. universities. I am also examining the political dynamics of university budget cuts using archival data from NC State’s history during the Great Depression, informed by a foundational theory of fiscal pressures. I am also a Mansour Doctoral Fellow.
